Manufacturing process

We break down the entire pipe manufacturing process in our workshops, from initial design to final assembly on site. This meticulous and coordinated approach ensures the precision and quality of the pipe systems.

Benefits of using prefabricated pipes:

Analysis of the advantages of prefabrication, including reduced installation times, improved quality and precision, decreased costs and waste on site. As an important point for safety, this process eliminates the risk of welding on site.

GALIFER, SA has 2 workshops dedicated to the prefabrication of pipes, being able to carry out projects in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel Quality

BIM Design:

The process begins with BIM design, a methodology that allows for the creation of accurate digital models of the pipes. These models include all the details necessary for manufacturing and installation, facilitating coordination between different disciplines and improving design accuracy.

Prefabrication in Workshop:

Using BIM models, the pipes are prefabricated in a controlled environment in our workshops. This method reduces installation times on site and improves the quality and precision of the components, as they are manufactured in optimal conditions with specialized tools and highly qualified personnel and approved TIG welders.

Identification of Pipe Sections by Codes:

Each prefabricated pipe section is identified with a unique code that is associated with the BIM model. These codes facilitate the management and traceability of components, ensuring that each piece can be easily located and installed in its correct position according to the design.

Non-destructive Testing in Workshop:

To ensure the integrity and quality of the pipes, non-destructive testing (NDT) is carried out in the workshop. These include techniques such as visual inspection, radiography, penetrating liquids, etc., allowing defects to be detected before final installation on site. These tests will have full traceability by associating the type of test with the section code.

Transport and Assembly of Pipe Sections on Site:

Once the pipe sections have passed all quality controls, they are packed in the workshop and carefully transported to the construction site. Assembly is carried out following the plan established in the BIM model, ensuring that each section is installed in its correct position and is properly connected to the rest of the system.
